Hailing from Roxbury, Massachusetts, Sheesh grew up seeing a mix of everything around him. From violence to good kids, religious and ethnic backgrounds–he claims he had the typical black experience. Rapping since the age of 13, Sheesh moved to Brockton around 2018 and began to ask around for a respectable engineer. He was introduced to J.Rose who then introduced him to producer DeevoDaGenius, Boston Music Awards recent Producer Of The Year. The instrumental behind his lyrics are very important for Sheesh, and this is why we hear such a heavy influence of old school hip hop caliber behind the sounds. Not to mention the illustrious mastermind DeevoDaGenius and his nonstop ability to match storytellers to the cadence of his beats. “A Deevo beat is like a brick of that girl…cause when you actually sit in there with bro you can see the energy he puts into a record–He might smoke a J, we might have an intimate conversation. Whatever the vibe is he will put that into the beat. A beat that's strictly energy and not bullshit is priceless.” Before Step Bruthas came to be, we can hear Ea$tside Sheesh on a couple of tracks sprinkled throughout Deevo’s Champion Sound album, another prolific album riddled with Boston's heavy hitters in the pen game. When asked exactly what the “Champion Sound” meant to Sheesh he believes it’s the ability to stick to your craft even if everyone goes through the day to day bullshit. It’s about taking the time to do something you love, taking your money and putting it into something you love. THAT'S THE CHAMPION SOUND.
