Let me just start by saying that I’ve followed mileshigh for a long time and have closely observed the seasons of his artistry develop and flourish. The vision is as cohesive as ever and I think we’re on the brink of a hypergrowth stage for Miles.

He’s back with a new single BILLY ELLIOT, following his June release i THiNK i FEEL BETTER, the artist has utilized social media to keep fans on their toes. On July 9th, Miles dropped a self-directed music video for the acoustic version of i THiNK i FEEL BETTER which flipped the script of traditional acoustic covers by adding new lyrics, percussion, and a very different visual aesthetic. More recently, Miles dropped a visual project titled Prologue containing three self-directed music videos which released every Wednesday until the release week of BILLY ELLIOT.

The anticipated single showcases the artist’s introspective side. Singing about following his dreams, going against the grain, and ultimately living with confused thoughts about his purpose in life as he grows and matures. The song gives listeners hope but may leave them feeling stranded as the melancholia-tinged atmospheres of the song linger more intensely towards the end of the experience. The vocals, co-mixed by Matthew Facca of Facca Audio paired with the dreamy low-end percussion and washy guitar tones from the Ohio based producer Idly Blare create a unique emotional atmosphere. The tones, textures and emotional depths of the single’s lyrics are captured perfectly through the music video directed by Regina based photographer ZUCCC in early May 2021. The video also features analog distortion FX from visual artist IDIORT. Billy Elliot is a testament of mileshigh’s versatility, growth, emotional depth and a statement that he is not afraid of evolving as an artist or a person even though he may be confused about the world around him.
