Contrasting between dark and light, the imagery for Chizz Capo’s Next Up (Remix) is as visually enticing as the song is audibly. For this high energy remix, Capo recruits ripe—tanjerines. native Lano and two new discoveries; Bookbag Boonie and Tre Suave. The four artists are able to seamlessly mesh their unique styles on a track sitting at just under 3 minutes. I respect the choice of keeping the song short. It can be hard to collaborate with a slew of artists and also maintain replay value, but these guys did it.
The video features the artists in what I interpret to be a speed-dating round. Each verse brings the performance to the forefront of the scene, stationing the artists at the main table where the lead model is pictured. The aforementioned variance between bright and dim studio shots create an ambient rift within the mood of the song and kept me drawn in the whole time. Quick cuts and tempo to requite a hyperactive mind make this experience a 10 for me. Well done!
