I came across dampszn some time ago when he worked with Coop on their electric record titled no more. After my initial listen I started seeing the Long Island based shape shifter all over the internet. His most recognized song Cancelled featuring BILLY BUEFFER was heavily pushed by the popular YouTube curation channel Promoting Sounds in 2020 and is approaching a million plays on Spotify.

The latest Work of Art by dampszn recruits Champ T and displays melodic mastery. One thing I’ve noticed from both artists on this record is that their individual catalogs are able to showcase a concise ability to wield chart worthy melodies. This approach by damp, as well as his recent efforts, tend to lean more toward the ear of the mainstream listener (which has proved to be inherently successful as he boasts amassing a high number of streams). The heavily effected vocals perfectly compliment the instrumental progression and when the baton is handed to Champ T he takes it home. This is definitely a duo I’d like to see more of.
